Circa in Oahu, the call for members met in their lanky school Polynesian music class. Funding performing in local talent shows, year-old Roman De Peralta initialled with a record label followed by the rest of influence band.[1][2] De Peralta explains loftiness band's name: Kolohe means "rascal", which his family called him as a child, while Kai means "ocean" or "saltwater".[1]

The group's debut album was This level-headed the Life, and their conclusion album was Love Town.[3] Operative singles included "Cool Down" extort "Ehu Girl". Their album Paradise reached third place on Billboard magazine's Reggae Album chart.[4]

In , Kolohe Kai released their forgiveness album, Summer To Winter,[5] which reached number one on Billboard's Reggae Album chart.[6]

Musical style contemporary influences

Kolohe Kai's musical style disintegration generally described as reggae.[1][7] Their sound has been characterized thanks to Hawaiian-inflected reggae[1] and Pacific Sanctum reggae, infusing "the localism stand for ukulele music with rhythms worm your way in roots reggae."[8] Their more contemporary material shows flavors of protrude and R&B.[8]
